ASAE 2009 Annual Meeting Recap
It has been about a week since we got back from the ASAE 2009 Annual Meeting and Exposition in Toronto and it's time to do a wrap up! I wanted to wait to do a wrap up to see what everyone's thoughts and reactions were to the experience at the meeting. For NFi Studios, we were extremely elated to see many of our friends in the association industry and meet new networks of people. If you were in Toronto with us, and stepped on our Red Carpet within our booth, thank you! If you did not get a chance to stop by, that is ok, and we hope you gained knowledge to take back to your association from the conference.
Check out pictures from our booth on the Red Carpet: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nfistudios/ - Do you see your picture in there?
Thank you to Maddie Grant for highlighting our Red Carpet in her blog post about awesome examples of Word of Mouth at ASAE09. To quote a line in her blog, "Now we all know about the huge value of networking at meetings, including ”networking receptions”, whether they are breakfast, lunch, dinner or drinks. The idea of the association as platform for people to convene is partly about that, getting people together for conversation and collaboration, both fun, social and serious." You said it right Maddie!
How amazing was it to see our clients and partners at the conference collaborating with each other, and with attendees that came up to us asking us what we did in the association industry. What better way to talk about what you provide, then to hear it directly from our association partners, and how these tools are engaging their members.
There were many sessions at conference and between exhibit hours we caught as many as we could. A few to highlight are:
1) Jeff De Cagna did a session named, "Associations Next: Serious Questions for 2010 and Beyond"
2) Amber MacArthur's, "The Do's and Don'ts of Social Media"
3) ASAE & The Center's videos capturing other speakers
We could go on and on about ASAE, but we are currently making things happen with these associations :) If you would like more resources about the conference, a good resource would be to go to ASAE's Acronym Blog. If you did not get a chance to see a demonstration of our community platform, MemberFuse, please feel free to contact us to set this up.
Here's to ASAE 2009 Technology Conference in January and 2010 ASAE Annual in LA!
