Help Support the Social Media Club in Orlando

Social Media Club has been organized for the purpose of sharing best practices, establishing ethics and standards, and promoting media literacy around the emerging area of Social Media. This is a global conversation amongst a diverse community of practitioners where the many different people who care about social media can come together to discover, connect, share, and learn.  There is also have a 'fan' page set up for the global Social Media Cub. 

SMC’s core mission is to:

• Expand Media Literacy
• Share Lessons Learned Among Practitioners
• Encourage Adoption of Industry Standards
• Promote Ethical Practices through Discussion and Actions

The tag for Social Media Club Orlando is SMCORFL. To celebrate a new year and new chapter, SMC Orlando are hoping to hold their first educational event in January. You can help them decide specific topics by voting.  The SMC Orlando Facebook fan page is still in the works, but you can join at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Social-Media-Club-Orlando/180732121195.

SMC will use SMC Orlando wiki page as their whiteboard to plot out topics, speakers, venues and sponsors. Feel free to contribute once it is live. “We are looking for folks to help organize the local chapter, if you are interested, please add yourself to the wiki.  We will use the Facebook group to communicate with the local community and post info on upcoming events.”
